Did you know that the teams who look after Burkinshaw's Covert (the 91-acre woodland owned by Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery) recently discovered some pygmy shrews and their caravans at the Covert, albeit by total accident! The team was cleaning some cargo netting and disturbed nests that had been built underneath the nets. As soon as the nests were discovered, the work stopped immediately. This is a fantastic example of how our conservation and diversity efforts are supporting the natural world on our doorstep!
