It is humbling to receive recognition for one's teaching style! Hello Dr. Alur,   The Office for a Respectful Learning Environment has launched an initiative in which we ask students to tell us about their exceptional teachers. We received a note about you. Here is what we received:   Dr. Alur is one of the few physicians I have encountered who has made it his mission to create a learning environment that both challenges and supports students. He has a remarkable ability to identify gaps in understanding and push you to think more deeply, not to criticize, but to help you grow into a better student and future physician. Throughout my nursery rotation, he consistently encouraged me to dig deeper and uncover knowledge he knew I was capable of applying, even when I doubted myself. More than any other preceptor I have worked with, Dr. Alur challenged me to think critically. He taught me not to stop at asking "what," but to always ask "why." That simple shift transformed the way I approach medicine. He pushed me to develop a level of clinical reasoning that I did not realize I was capable of, and in doing so, helped me gain confidence in my own abilities. What sets Dr. Alur apart is his genuine dedication to teaching and ensuring true understanding rather than simply delivering information. He invests in his students' growth and takes the time to make sure concepts are understood at a deeper level. He is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and deeply committed to medical education. He challenges students in exactly the way they should be challenged during medical school, and my short time learning from him was one of the most valuable educational experiences I have had.   Thank you for all that you are doing for our students. This narrative gives clear evidence for the impact that you are having, and your efforts are greatly appreciated.   Kind regards,
