The Ocean Literacies in Early Childhood: Outdoor Education and Learning for Sustainability toolkit was presented today during a dedicated webinar. Building on the experience of one of the #SEABEYOND educational projects, the Kindergarten of the Lagoon, this publication, developed by UNESCO, explores how ocean literacy can begin from the earliest years of life through outdoor, place-based learning experiences that nurture curiosity and a connection with nature. Designed as a practical resource for educators and outdoor learning practitioners, the toolkit shares activities, pedagogical approaches, and reflections to help bring ocean learning into early childhood across diverse contexts and environments, even far from the sea.
