There is no single pathway into the renewable energy industry. Last week, Potentia Energy supported two students attending the Wind Industry Forum through the Clean Energy Council Career Launcher initiative. Angelica Chauta brings more than 10 years’ experience in ESG, compliance and social engagement in the energy sector, and is about to complete her Masters of Environment and Sustainability at Monash University. Her biggest takeaway from the Forum? “The summit highlighted how geopolitical, regulatory, technical, environmental, social, and financial factors all need to align for a project to progress,” she said. “Seeing how these “dots” connect at both national and project levels was incredibly valuable.” Maeve Clancy is undertaking a Masters of Environment at the University of Melbourne, where her research focuses on the pace of Australia’s renewable energy transition and the challenges surrounding planning and social licence. She said: “I found the speakers on community engagement & consultation very interesting and thoughtful. They added depth to the social side of the renewable energy transition which is an important area of work. "One of the main takeaways was the positivity about the future of clean energy. It was really inspiring to see so many people dedicated and excited to continue this important and complex work.”
