👀 You know these two typefaces, but less in a finer comparison. Let's explain how they works together: Le Monde Journal: https://lnkd.in/gadCgPhx Le Monde Livre https://lnkd.in/gWdpWWrw 👀 The challenge of a super family (this one initially designed for Le Monde) is to establish common principles and structure, while looking for the difference: those nuances that will help the contrast. Le Monde Journal, intended for small sizes, is the base of this super family. Le Monde Livre Classic, intended for a broder use, appeared 6 years later. Beyond the details, the visual characteristics, remain the most crucial point: the drawing itself, the tension of the curves and the way to draw shapes which define the style of the designer. The line of a Lucas de Groot LucasFonts GmbH will be different from that of a Sumner Stone or a Jonathan Hoefler . This is where the personality traits of the designer in them lie. — — — #typeface #typography #opentype #fonts #typofonderie #france #web #design #typedesign #graphicdesign #typedesigner #typeinspiration #365typefaces #type01 #ILTtoo #lemondejournal #lemondelivreclassic #lemonde
