P O P U P Client Spotlight: Sportswriter, Author and wonderful human, Martin Flanagan. Pop Up Marketer is very fortunate to have Martin as a founding client. In addition to sport, Martin writes opinion pieces about Australian culture and the relationship between Indigenous & non-Indigenous Australians. I first met Martin when my Dad and I were asked to contribute to the book he was writing about the Western Bulldogs’ 2016 Premiership year. Dad was interviewed about his childhood in Footscray and I provided Twitter posts published throughout the season. To my disbelief, my book title suggestion was accepted by his publisher Penguin Random House Australia & New Zealand I was fortunate enough to MC a couple of book launch events. I'll treasure those moments shared with Dad forever. Since then, Martin has released yet another instant Australian classic: The Art of Pollination. It chronicles the life of Jane Tewson, an extraordinary woman who pioneered “Comic Relief” in the UK and The Corporate Responsibility Index in Australia. Martin’s tome is described by Sir Richard Branson as a “moving book that masterfully gets to the heart of what makes Jane Tewson and Igniting Change such unique, uniting powers”. That's Martin in a nutshell: a masterful writer and a national treasure.
