📚 I'm pleased to share the publication of a book chapter that originated from my doctoral research: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: 𝗔 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱𝘀 The chapter presents a computational workflow that combines parametric design, structural optimisation, and dynamic seismic analysis to evaluate tall-building diagrid systems during the early design stages. A key aspect of the work was integrating OpenSees-based seismic simulations into the design environment through Alpaca4d, helping bridge architectural design exploration and structural performance assessment. The chapter is published in 𝗔 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, a book that emerged from the CORE Studio initiative at Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft following the 2023 Türkiye earthquake. My sincere thanks to the editors, Serdar Aşut and Simona Bianchi, for their tremendous effort in bringing this book together and for creating such a valuable platform for interdisciplinary collaboration. I am also grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the CORE Studio in 2023, where I delivered a workshop on the use of Alpaca4d for computational seismic design. Many thanks as well to my co-authors — Michela Turrin, Charalampos Andriotis, Alireza Entezami, Stefano Mariani, Alireza Entezami, and Aldo Ghisi — for their collaboration on this work. 📖 🔗 Book DOI: https://lnkd.in/eCsTuNzy (My paper: pp. 263 - 290) #TUDelft #AET #BuildingTechnology #ComputationalDesign #ArchitecturalEngineering #SeismicSimulation #SeismicResilience #TallBuildings #Alpaca4d #OpenSees
