🌟 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀! 🥔🍅 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝟮 focuses on developing tools for the early detection and surveillance of the bacterial pathogens 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴 (𝘊𝘴) and 𝘙𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘮 (𝘙𝘴), major threats to potato and tomato crops worldwide. 📡 Responding to the challenges of climate change, ecosystem degradation, and globalisation, this objective strengthens early-warning systems and supports smarter, faster responses. 🔎 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀: ✔️ Building of Genome Scale Metabolic models (GEMs) using Metagenomically Assembled Genomes (MAGs) to understand plant immune responses and identify key metabolites generated in the early stages of infection, some detectable via polymeric sensors. ✔️ Integration of machine learning, deep learning, and mechanistic modelling to identify disease-related pathways, regulators, and molecular signatures. ✔️ Acquisition and AI-powered analysis of high-res multispectral drone/satellite images to detect, differentiate, and quantify infection severity. ✔️ Linking plant phenotype to infection severity using AI models, targeting high accuracy. ✔️ Development of a cloud-based AI platform that delivers tailored, environment-specific disease insights via a digital application.
