JUST IN: Apple activates a global iPhone 'kill switch' to make stolen phones worthless. Here's how it works: Apple has rolled out stronger global anti-theft protections that effectively turn stolen iPhones into useless bricks for thieves. The update makes it extremely difficult, and in many cases impossible, for stolen devices to be reactivated, reset, or resold on the black market. Key details: → Apple is now sharing stolen device identifiers (such as IMEI and serial numbers) with law enforcement agencies worldwide → Enhanced Stolen Device Protection and Activation Lock features are now much harder to bypass and are enabled by default on iPhones → The changes were developed in close partnership with London’s Metropolitan Police to target organized phone theft networks → Early results in London show significant drops in iPhone thefts, with one area reporting a 45.8% reduction → By removing the resale value of stolen devices, Apple is aiming to reduce the incentive for phone theft globally This is Apple’s most aggressive move yet against the growing problem of organized smartphone theft. Polymarket now projects Apple will release a foldable iPhone this year. #Apple #KillSwitch #iPhone #MacBook #TimCook
