Today, we're excited to announce the teams supporting two major newsroom expansions in Australia and Spain. In Australia, the founding editorial team behind Canberra Playbook will launch the newsletter Aug. 17, as parliament returns from winter recess. The editorial team will be led by Australia Launch Editor Ryan Heath, with Paul Karp joining as Canberra Playbook Editor, as well as Finn McHugh and Miriam Webber as inaugural Canberra Playbook co-authors. In Spain, our first Madrid hires will build POLITICO’s newsroom there and shape Madrid Playbook, our first Spanish-language Playbook, ahead of its launch this fall. POLITICO has appointed Angel Villarino as Senior Editor and Enrique Andrés-Pretel as Deputy Editor.
