We’re taking a new approach this season—bringing you straight to the source. Every 30–45 days, you’ll hear directly from farmers across the country as they share how the weather is treating them, how their crops are progressing, and how the season is unfolding in real time. From cold mornings in Southern Minnesota to muddy fields in Central Illinois… this season is off to a slow, scattered start. In southern McLean County, Illinois, Jon Scheets is already dealing with saturated fields after 3–4 inches of rain. With temps hovering around 40°, planting progress is barely underway and there’s still a long road ahead. Up in Fairbault County, Minnesota, Travis Krinkie is waking up to 20° mornings and frost—conditions that have fieldwork at a standstill for now. Down in Custer County, Oklahoma, Will Mannering is facing the opposite challenge. A tough drought has taken its toll on the wheat crop, and many acres may not even make it to harvest. And in Pennsylvania, Connor McCrumb has seen over 5 inches of rain in the last week. Fields are worked but not planted, and while farmers are ready to go, the weather is still calling the shots. Different regions. Different challenges. Same story—farmers adapting in real time. This is farming as it happens—unfiltered, unpredictable, and told by the people living it every day.
