Legal certainty is essential to delivering both sustainability and competitiveness. Together with a broad coalition of European industry associations, we are calling on EU institutions to maintain the current legal text of the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD). As the Directive is still being implemented across Member States, reopening it now would create unnecessary legal uncertainty, increase complexity for businesses, and risk inconsistencies with other EU legislation.
