How do you track a piece of timber back to the forest it came from? 🪵🌳 Meet Victor, the "detective" in our research team 🕵️🧪 While most people see a wooden chair, a chocolate bar or a cup of coffee, Victor sees a complex web of data and chemistry. He combines expertise in natural resource management, #biochemistry, and data analysis to tackle global supply chain #transparency. Whether it’s timber, beef, cocoa, coffee, soy, palm oil or even shrimp 🦐 Victor leads the World Forest ID science team (worldforestid.org) and works with international partners to ensure that the harvest location claims of products are accurate  and not linked to #deforestation.
