Meet Juhi Singh, Quantum Algorithms Engineer at planqc.   Juhi works at the interface of theory and experiment, contributing to both hardware optimization and quantum algorithms. In the interview, she shares a behind-the-scenes look at what that means in practice: from low-level modeling of hardware components to developing NISQ and fault-tolerant algorithms that can be implemented on our hardware in the future.   She also shares her path into science and innovation: completing her bachelor’s and master’s in India, moving to Germany for a PhD in theoretical physics, and working closely with neutral-atom devices along the way. What stands out is her perspective that progress often comes step by step — shaped by curiosity, persistence, and the confidence that can grow through supportive mentors, friends, and colleagues. Her advice to young women in science and technology is empowering: do the best you can at the level you are today, then keep reaching for the next one.   One highlight from her journey so far has been earning a PhD position in theoretical physics at a renowned institute in Germany — a milestone made even more meaningful by the fact that she came from a low-ranking state university and had no prior research experience.
