Meet Alice Bellettini, Quantum Algorithms Engineer at planqc. Alice works in our Algorithms team, focusing on hardware simulations that support the development of our quantum computers. In the interview, she gives a behind-the-scenes look at what that means in practice: modelling and simulating the physical systems that make up a quantum computer, supporting the development of our quantum computers and opening the path to new discoveries in chemistry, materials science, and sustainable transport. She also shares her path into science and innovation: joining planqc after a PhD and postdoc in cold atom physics, and following a long-standing fascination with science, research, and abstract modelling. What stands out is her perspective on confidence and self-awareness – learning to recognize her own achievements and abilities while staying humble, and speaking up whenever she encounters a lack of respect. Her advice to young women in science and technology is simple and powerful: what you think about yourself, your goals, and your passion matters far more than what disrespectful people might say. One highlight from her journey so far has been the moment she was awarded her PhD in physics! You can find the interview here: https://lnkd.in/d2f_RxCR
