Pirelli has promoted and taken part, together with Xingda, in an ISCC PLUS pilot project aimed at enabling the certification of recycled steel for tyre production.   More than introducing a new material, the project marks a step forward in building a certified industrial model for the tyre supply chain. As part of the initiative, Pirelli worked with Xingda and the suppliers involved to define the technical requirements and sustainability guidelines under the ISCC PLUS scheme, supporting the certification process across the value chain.    The result is a collaborative ecosystem based on shared standards, third-party verification and full traceability: from the origin of recycled steel to its use in finished tyres. Through a controlled blending approach, ISCC PLUS-certified material will be used in Pirelli tyre production at several plants worldwide.   This pathway reinforces Pirelli’s role in advancing materials innovation through supply chain collaboration, certified processes and industrial models designed to turn circularity into measurable, traceable practice.
