Helping CRE & FM leaders outgrow the facilities label and build executive leverage | Aptiv | ex-Amazon | CRE & FM Notes - Newsletter (creandfmnotes.substack.com)
Ecolab just paid $4.75 billion for a data centre cooling company. Not a tech firm. Ecolab. The company most FM professionals know from water treatment and hygiene contracts. I personally know them as a pest control service provider. They acquired CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling specialist for AI data centres. Same week, APAC's data centre pipeline hit a record 19.4 GW and Hitachi signed an early agreement to convert cargo ships into floating data centres. Personally, I find this fascinating. The shift in the industry is happening right now. FM leaders who still treat critical environments as a niche vertical are watching the fastest-growing segment of the built environment get claimed by someone else.
