Governance is not supposed to slow anything down. If it does, it was built wrong. That is the idea our CEO, Dr Imad Syed, kept coming back to during his interview for this cover story with Insights Success. Most leaders think of data governance as a set of checkpoints. Approvals. Checklists. Friction, dressed up as safety. Dr Imad describes it differently, closer to how a pilot reads an instrument panel. When every dial is accurate, you do not fly cautiously. You fly with full confidence, because you are never second guessing the fuel gauge. That is what trustworthy data gives an organization. Not control. Speed. He calls it policy as code, governance that runs inside the system itself, automatically, instead of sitting in a document nobody reads until something breaks.
