🌍 #PicterusNewbornHealth Update Sarah Rose Jones and Gabriela JimĂ©nez DĂaz, from our non-profit have just returned from Zambia, and the visit left us more motivated than ever. At Kapiri District Hospital and the surrounding rural clinics, we saw a wall covered with photos of babies alongside their names, birth weights, and survival stories. Seeing those stories gathered in one place was a powerful reminder of why early jaundice screening matters and of the lives already being impacted through this work. Thanks to the dedication of the healthcare workers at Kapiri District Hospital and the continued collaboration with local clinics and communities, jaundice screening is becoming an integrated part of routine newborn care. Awareness is growing among families and healthcare workers alike that jaundice can be treated when detected early. As the project continues to expand, we look forward to supporting even more healthcare workers and increasing access to early newborn screening across the district. Each child screened brings us one step closer to a future where no baby suffers the consequences of undetected jaundice and where every newborn has the opportunity to thrive. ✹ We are just getting started. #NewbornHealth #NeonatalCare #JaundiceAwareness #NeonatalJaundiceAwarenessMonth2026 #HealthInnovation #Zambia #HealthEquity #NeonatalJaundice #PicterusNewbornHealth #Picterus
