June 28 is National Insurance Awareness Day. Why is this day important for your business? It serves as a mid-year reminder for your clients to review their insurance policies and make amendments that may be needed. ✔️ Are there coverage gaps? Have clients recently moved or renovated their home? Have they made significant purchases? Do they need to add a teen driver to their auto policy? This is the time to adjust insurance limits and coverages. ✔️ Homeowners and renters also should evaluate their asset protection. Home burglaries peak during daytime summer months, while auto break-ins and vehicle thefts occur most often overnight during summer and holiday periods. Homeowners and renters insurance policies should be reviewed to ensure adequate coverage for personal property and liability exposures. ✔️ Unpredictable disasters such as floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and wildfires can be devastating. FEMA estimates that floods alone cause billions of dollars in damage each year, while wildfires continue to destroy homes and businesses across the country. Standard homeowners policies may not cover every risk, making it essential to discuss additional protections and endorsements with clients. National Insurance Awareness Day is an opportunity for independent insurance agents to educate clients, identify coverage gaps, and help ensure they are properly protected against life's unexpected events. #NationalInsuranceAwarenessDay #InsuranceGaps #UmbrelllaInsurance #IndependentAgents
