Department Head - Train Control at ALSTOM Mannheim
🎉 From writing code to leading teams 🚆 This month marks 15 years in the railway industry for me. Hard to believe how far it’s come since I started as a Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg student in Mannheim. One semester abroad in Stockholm and a Master at Technische Hochschule Mannheim later it was suddenly my career path. Things started at Bombardier (2010), diving into embedded software, fleet management tools, and web apps. Later, I stepped into my first leading role as Product Development Manager and afterwards into my first position as a team lead – every step out of my comfort zone. Then the next chapter in 2021: Alstom. A time of change, transformation, and growth as Department Head Train Control for our Traxx portfolio. Where I’ve have the privilege of working with a fantastic team. 👏 Together, we’ve managed changes, transformation while focusing on the delivery of our solutions for our business and sustainable mobility. 🌍 🚀 What made this journey special? ✅ Staying curious, even when things got tough ✅ Adaptive leading with empathy, not ego ✅ Collaborating across cultures and disciplines And I didn’t do it alone. None of this would have been possible without the trust and support of mentors and incredible colleagues like Susanne Lindemaier, Bernhard Fontagnier, Stefan Roessling, Philipp Hetzelt, Boris Meiser, Dr. Manuel Gesell, Christian Wagner, Frank Schleier, Kevin Cogo, David Bracali, Stefan Goossens and many more around the world – thanks for being part of my journey! 🙌 📈 The impact? ✔ Successful delivery of several advanced rail solutions ✔ A stronger, more connected team ✔ Projects around the globe that move people and goods safely and sustainable 👉 Most important thing I’ve learned: Being adaptive and using change as a benefit. Change isn’t the enemy. It’s the impulse, the push to grow, to think differently, to lead better. In a fast-moving world, adaptability isn’t just helpful -> it’s key. As I reflect on these 15 years, I’m grateful – and excited for what’s next. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your past career? I’d love to hear your story in the comments.👇 #Alstom #Traxx #Rail #RollingStock #TrainControl #Mannheim #AlstomMannheim #RailwayIndustry #LeadershipJourney #CareerGrowth *Photos by Alstom and private
