After a full day of meetings and learning sessions with partners at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, including learning more about the Berlin University Alliance, it was a real highlight to come together this evening for a great reception at the Canadian Embassy in #Berlin. Grateful for the warm welcome from Ambassador Vera Alexander, and for the excellent speech from Prof. Dr. Günter M. Ziegler, President of Freie Universität Berlin, who underscored the importance of sustained international connection and exchange, especially in the shifting, complex times we find ourselves in (and weaving in some Leonard Cohen quotes as part of it). It was a pleasure to reconnect with colleagues, meet new partners, and spend time with The University of British Columbia alumni here in Berlin.
