"Are girls less gifted in mathematics than boys"? This year the second prize of our national SES competition of our project "Campus de l'innovation pour les Lycées", designed to develop students’ analytical and argumentative skills, was awarded to Lycée Notre-Dame Saint- Sigisbert, Nancy. This question has existed for a long time. It is often loaded with bias and raises another question: are differences in academic performance driven by nature or by culture? The working group compared its initial hypothesis with: ✴️ observations from the field ✴️ analyzed data and statistical studies using a primarily quantitative approach ✴️ reflecting the causality of the phenomenon in order to better understand its underlying mechanisms.
