Modern connected systems—such as autonomous devices and sensor networks—must communicate efficiently to build a shared understanding of their environment. This project explores how such systems can achieve reliable coordination using information-theoretic principles. The PhD candidate will analyze sensing and coordination problems using Shannon information theory and coding theory, with the goal of designing resilient communication protocols. The research will move from theoretical modeling to real-world implementation in the ACES Lab, where solutions will be tested in hardware. The project is part of a collaborative research initiative between TUM and TU Dresden, aiming to develop next-generation resilient communication systems.
