In Loving Memory of Pharma Test Founder Franz J. Fähler * December 16, 1948 – † February 8, 2026 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our founder and former Pharma Test CEO, Franz J. Fähler, on February 8, 2026. After courageously battling injuries from a biking accident last year, he tragically passed away. He leaves behind his loving wife, Petra, his son, Björn, and his brother, Gerd with family.   Franz Fähler established Pharma Test in 1979 in an attic office in Hainburg, near Offenbach am Main, Germany. Through his remarkable vision, determination, and exceptional networking skills, Pharma Test expanded from operating out of a rented garage to becoming a global leader in high-quality testing equipment for the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries. The company now has three sites in Germany and over 100 partners and subsidiaries worldwide.   Franz's openness to different countries, cultures and people in general is also reflected in the company: diversity and inclusion have always been present at Pharma Test and will continue to be. Franz served as CEO until 2011, when his son, Björn, continued in his footsteps. Until his passing, Franz remained chairman of the supervisory board and was a mentor, teacher, friend, and father figure to many.   Franz is remembered not only for his business savvy, but also for his remarkable kindness, big heart, charm, good sense of humor, and integrity. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest until the very end. He went on numerous trips around the world and enjoyed many activities with his wife Petra. He also loved playing tennis and was a loyal supporter of the Offenbach Kickers soccer team, which he regularly supported at the stadium together with his son Björn.   He will be greatly missed.
