With a deal now, in principal, done between Iran and the US, the question now becomes how quickly will the Strait of Hormuz re-open, will it be Friday, as President Trump has indicated, or will it take longer. Whilst we all hope that it happens quickly, even if it is re-opened on Friday, it may take some time for shipping to return to the region and normality return to ports in the area, as lines may not feel immediately confident returning. However, this is definitely a big step towards the return to safe passage for vessels, and the ability to use key ports in the region with no risk.
