We have made a new gas discovery at the Swartzia-Aspasia Complex-1 (SAC-1) well in offshore Block 52, Suriname, located within a highly prospective corridor known as the “Golden Lane”. The President of Suriname, H.E. Dr. Jennifer Simons, announced the discovery at the 2026 Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS), saying it "sets the base for multiple oil and gas developments and a brighter future for Suriname." We were also delighted to be the summit’s strategic partner. This new discovery brings our cumulative achievements in the country to a total of eight successful wells, collectively unlocking more than one billion barrels of oil equivalent. Operating in Suriname since 2013, we hold interest in eight offshore blocks. With the Sloanea field's declaration of commerciality secured and a final investment decision on its gas development on the horizon, the SAC-1 discovery further strengthens the case for Block 52 as the anchor of Suriname's deepwater gas future. #PETRONAS #PassionateAboutProgress #SEOGS2026
