Power & Petroleum Ministries Strengthen Egypt's Summer Energy Security Egypt's Ministers of Electricity & Renewable Energy and Petroleum & Mineral Resources reviewed the integrated summer action plan to ensure reliable electricity supplies and secure fuel for power generation amid rising seasonal demand. ⚡ Electricity demand is expected to increase by 8% this summer. ⚡ Fuel consumption has been reduced to below 170 g/kWh, improving power generation efficiency. ⚡ 2.2 GW of renewable energy capacity and 1.3 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) will be connected to the national grid this year. Egypt's LNG import infrastructure, including FSRUs and the Damietta LNG Plant, is fully prepared to support secure natural gas supplies.
