Global Head of Design for Philips | Board Member at BNO

Dutch design has a bit of a superpower. Or, as they might say here: Nederlands design heeft een soort superkracht.   After spending more time inside this community, I’ve come to appreciate the value system behind it: openness, pragmatism, collaboration, and a quiet belief that design can shape better systems for people.    That’s why I’m joining the board of Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO) — Association of Dutch Designers, home to the largest community of designers in the Netherlands, working to connect, inspire and strengthen the power of design.    My goal is to help build on that foundation: amplifying trust and inclusivity in a world where AI and commerce are rapidly reshaping how value is created. Technology should unlock the potential of this creative community, not distance us from it.    Part of my focus will also be raising the bar on software delivery and the harmonisation of hardware and software, with human needs at the center and a clear eye on a sustainable future for humanity.    There’s something very Dutch that captures the spirit behind this. Sometimes it’s as simple as smiling to the person next to you while riding your bike to work: a small moment of equality where human connection can thrive.    Looking forward to contributing alongside Mark Van Iterson, Diana Janssen, Silvie Helmes, Taco Schmidt, and the wider BNO community, and building on the work done by Herbert Seevinck.    If you're curious about BNO or if you'd like to join, know more here: https://lnkd.in/ebY3BH7V
