Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m very fond of these beasts, but they’re not pets. Their role is to eat, dung, trample and thrash; to create mess and disorder, where bugs, bats, bees and butterflies can find opportunity.   In my imagination, these five cows are really aurochs, the now extinct wild cattle that once roamed across Europe.
