Today on International Clinical Trials Day, we’re celebrating – and saying thank you - to the hundreds of staff and patients helping shape the future of cancer care through research at Peter Mac. With around 500 clinical trials underway, every study represents hope: hope for better treatments, fewer side effects, improved quality of life, and ultimately, better outcomes for people with cancer. Behind every trial is an incredible team making it possible – from researchers and doctors to pharmacists, data managers and specialist nurses like radiation clinical trials research nurse Yuka Nishihara, who help keep trials running and support patients every step of the way. “Having patients' voices is the most important thing for us to improve the quality of care,” Yuka explains. “One person's experience could help thousands of people — that's what research is about.” To every patient who has taken part, and every staff member helping deliver research that changes lives: thank you. Because today’s clinical trials help create tomorrow’s standard of care. #InternationalClinicalTrialsDay #ClinicalTrials #CancerResearch #PeterMac
