Director, Head of Department, The Nordic Council of Ministers

Interesting discussions are currently taking place across the Nordic region on how to strengthen the bridge between research, innovation and commercialisation — particularly within emerging and strategically important technologies. As part of the Nordic cooperation framework, the Nordic Council of Ministers is facilitating work on how the Nordics can better connect world-class research environments with industrial applications, scaling opportunities and long-term competitiveness. An important role in this work is being carried out together with NordForsk and Nordic Innovation — two key Nordic institutions helping to strengthen cooperation between research, innovation ecosystems, industry and policymakers across the region. The discussions touch upon several important dimensions: • stronger Nordic cooperation around research infrastructure and test environments • improved access to capital and scale-up capabilities • closer collaboration between academia, startups, industry and governments • identifying Nordic strengths and strategic use cases • creating stronger Nordic positioning within the evolving European innovation landscape The Nordics have a strong tradition of research and trust-based collaboration. The next step is ensuring that more knowledge, talent and innovation also translate into societal impact, industrial value and globally competitive companies. A highly relevant and important discussion for the future of Nordic competitiveness and resilience. #Nordics #Innovation #Research #Commercialisation #Quantum #Technology #NordicCooperation #Competitiveness #ResearchAndInnovation Danmarks Forsknings- og Innovationspolitiske Råd (DFIR) DTU - Technical University of Denmark Lunds Tekniska Högskola Chalmers tekniska högskola
