Tell us your views on the proposed transfer of the Pitlochry Town Hall building to a local charity. The registered charity ‘Pitlochry Town Hall’ has occupied the building, a Common Good property, since 2005 under a management agreement with Perth and Kinross Council. It has now submitted a Community Asset Transfer Request seeking ownership of Pitlochry Town Hall, to secure and support the building’s long-term use. The charity was set-up to support the local community by providing recreational facilities and the advancement of education, arts, heritage, culture, science, and wider community development. The transfer request aligns with the provisions of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which enables bodies to acquire land and buildings from public sector organisations for community benefit. The application requests that ownership of the property be transferred to Pitlochry Town Hall for the sum of £1. A consultation is now open on the proposed transfer, and you can tell us your views here: https://lnkd.in/ezTyikEp The consultation is open until 12 August 2026.
