Scotland is heading to the World Cup 2026 and now communities across Perth and Kinross can get involved too The World Cup 2026 Fund is now open, with community groups able to apply for up to £1,000 to run local events and activities that celebrate Scotland qualifying and get more people playing, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines. Funding is available for projects linked to children and young people, walking football, women’s football, para football and adult recreational football. This is your chance to get your community match ready. Each group can apply once per category, with up to £5,000 available in total if you’re playing across more than one position. All projects must clearly link to the World Cup and show how they’ll boost participation or volunteering. The final whistle for applications is 5pm on Monday 4 May 2026, but the fund may close early if all funding is snapped up, so don’t leave it on the bench.
