This Pride Month, we brought our community together through a series of engaging sessions and creative activities celebrating queer identity, history, and culture. We kicked things off with 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻?, a beginner-friendly introduction to queer identity and history, offering a foundation for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the community and its journey. Next, we got hands-on with 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲: 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁, exploring how queerness was historically embedded in films, music, art, and stories long before open visibility was possible. Working in small teams, participants examined real examples and debated whether certain creative choices were intentional queer coding or audience interpretation, sparking lively discussion about representation both past and present. Creativity took center stage with our tote bag design station, where colleagues used fabric markers to design their own personalized queer-themed totes right in the office, a fun, tangible way to express pride and individuality. We closed out the month with 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗽: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗽 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, a conversation exploring queerness’s profound influence on fashion, music, aesthetics, and the cultural moments that define mainstream trends. We looked at iconic influences and current movements, celebrating the creative power of self-expression and visibility in shaping culture today.
