2025 was a year of focus – and of sharper conversations. Looking back, 2025 was less about announcements and more about substance. Many of the topics we have been working on for years became tangible – in discussions, in projects and increasingly in real industrial environments. At the core, one thing became clearer than ever: Getting data from the field into IT should not be a challenge anymore. Independent of the underlying technology, it has to be simple, reliable and usable in everyday operations. With Perinet, connecting field data to IT has become easier than ever – not as a technical exercise, but as a practical enabler. At events like SPS Nuremberg 2025, the shift was unmistakable. The questions are changing. Conversations no longer start with why modernisation is needed, but with how it can be implemented securely, without disrupting running systems and without adding unnecessary complexity. What shaped our year: - More concrete discussions around data access, continuity and security in existing installations - A noticeable rise in prior knowledge, especially regarding cyber security and regulatory requirements - A clear move towards retrofit scenarios, away from greenfield assumptions - Strong demand for approaches that integrate into real architectures, not idealised models Industrial modernisation is rarely slowed down by lack of ambition. It is slowed down by solutions that are too complex, too expensive and dependent on specialists to operate. 2025 confirmed our direction: Building concepts that work close to the plant, respect existing structures and bring industrial digitalisation out of the 1990s – into something that is finally practical, scalable and fit for today. That is exactly what we will continue to work on in 2026. Thank you to all customers, partners and everyone who contributed to this year.
