We’re kicking off a Pepperstone spotlight series on real internal moves, sharing the behind‑the‑scenes stories that prove career growth doesn’t always mean jumping ship but sometimes it’s about backing yourself exactly where you are. ✨ First up: Ruth Gu and her transition from Customer Onboarding into Legal. 💁♀️ Ruth joined Pepperstone almost four years ago in Customer Onboarding, right as she started law school. Right role, right time. In her second year of study, an internal Paralegal role opened up. Ruth applied, despite not feeling 100% ready and knowing there were external candidates with legal backgrounds in the mix. Her edge? Simple and powerful. She already knew the business, the people and the processes. And yes, she got the job. 🎉 For three months, Ruth split her week between Onboarding and Legal. She supported her original team, completed handovers and learned the ropes in Legal at the same time. Challenging? Absolutely. She was working full‑time, studying law full‑time and constantly switching mental gears. Was it worth it? Completely! The result: Ruth transitioned fully into Legal, finished law school last year and was admitted to the legal profession as an Australian Lawyer. This February, she was promoted to Junior Legal Counsel, all while continuing to build her career at Pepperstone. Her biggest takeaway? Don’t self‑reject. Try it. Let the process decide.
