Hanna joined the Restart Scheme in Darlington as a single mum ready to return to work. Her Employment Advisor, Alex, supported her every step: updating her CV, rebuilding her confidence, preparing her for applications, and keeping her motivated when an early job offer fell through. To help her stand out to employers, Alex suggested volunteering. Hanna took the advice and joined Scope in Darlington moving from sorting stock, to tills, to admin work, to listing items online. It strengthened her CV, proved her reliability, and helped her regain belief in herself. She also passed her driving test during this time, giving her the freedom to widen her job search. So when a flexible admin role came through Restart, Alex put her forward immediately. Hanna applied, interviewed, and was offered the job the same day. She arranged childcare and started work.
