Levon Karen Levonyan (2000-2020) Levon studied at the YSU Faculty of Law; he wanted to become a military investigator. On August 19, 2020, he left for military service although he had health issues. He served for 38 days only when the war broke out. At first, Levon was in Akna (Aghdam), then in the defensive positions of Martuni, and on October 23, 2020, his platoon moved to stop the enemy's advance in the area called "Dzhokhqi gorge". On October 29, 2020, they changed the position for the last time but did not accomplish defensive measures. On October 30, 2020, they had to fight the enemy advancing in Dzor. When a platoon armoured vehicle that was not far away was hit by an enemy UAV they were instructed to take refuge. Levon and his comrades-in-arms took cover in the nearby forested area. At that moment, the second enemy UAV struck the soldiers. Levon Levonyan was killed on the spot, the commander and two of his associates received severe wounds. Levon and his platoon had hit a tank and UAV, destroyed the enemy armoured column in the gorge hours before his death. The videos were circulating on the Internet in those days.
