After years of paying rent and maintaining her home, everything changed when the property owner passed away, and the house was sold. Suddenly, Kamala didn’t know where to go. She spent nearly 10 years experiencing homelessness, often sleeping near train and bus stations, before connecting with PATH’s outreach team. With support, she was connected to the Hollywood Inn Shelter and enrolled in the ICMS program, where she began her search for housing. Through the Brilliant Corners program and a Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool, Kamala moved into her own home.
