The work to bring a library to every primary school in England is underway 📚💪 Yesterday Chancellor Rachel Reeves visited St Thomas Becket Catholic Primary School in South East London as it opened its new library – the first delivered through the new government-backed programme to guarantee a library for all state primary schools in England by 2029 👏 We’re proud that that this next phase of the #LibrariesforPrimaries campaign, which we co-founded with the National Literacy Trust in 2021, is continuing to make a real impact in children’s lives.
