Pedersen & Partners recently hosted its first Client & Partner Afternoon in Riga, bringing together CEOs, founders, business owners and C-level executives to discuss one of today's most relevant leadership topics: building AI-ready organisations. Opening the discussion, Evita Lune, Equity Partner, Global Head of the FinTech Practice and regional manager for the Baltics at Pedersen & Partners, reflected on what this transformation means for businesses in smaller markets: “AI will reshape business on a scale comparable to the internet, creating a clear divide between companies that adapt early and those that fall behind. For Latvia, where the domestic market and access to capital are limited, AI offers a powerful opportunity to improve productivity, scale internationally and compete with larger economies. We already see this reflected in executive search, where companies increasingly expect leaders to have proven experience in AI-enabled transformation, automation and new operating models. At Pedersen & Partners, AI is already improving research, documentation and reporting, reducing some processes from days to minutes while increasing consistency and precision. The real leadership challenge is no longer whether to adopt AI, but how quickly organizations can embed it into strategy, operations and decision-making.” Inga Ezera, Principal at Pedersen & Partners, shared insights from the Pan-European Leadership Pulse, highlighting that leadership capability is expected to have a greater impact on business value than any single technology. Bringing the discussion closer to home, Signe Nīgale, Strategic Communication & Change Management Expert, together with Laura Kalniņa, Process Management Consultant, presented research on AI readiness in Latvian organisations, showing that the biggest challenges are not access to AI but scaling it across the business and leading organisational change. Adding a practical perspective, Nauris Bloks, Chief Executive Officer of TWINO, shared lessons from implementing AI in a fast-growing fintech, while Ričards Križanovskis, co-founder of Desktop Commander, demonstrated how AI agents are already moving beyond assisting employees to executing operational tasks. The discussion reinforced one key takeaway: AI readiness is not a technology initiative. It is a leadership challenge.
