A symposium that offered everything from pineapple to MR-Linac! 🍍☢️ On Saturday, we had the opportunity to dive deep into the world of neuroendocrine tumors (NET) at the RFP Symposium 2026 at Universitätsspital Zürich. It was fascinating to see how broad the spectrum of diagnostics is today: ➤ High-Tech: New possibilities in angiography systems, SPECT/CT, and radiotherapy on the MR-Linac. ➤ Smart Contrast: How pineapple juice from concentrate can serve as a natural contrast agent in conventional MRI for pancreatic diagnostics to suppress interfering stomach signals. ➤ Innovation: Exciting insights into therapies like SIRT, Lu177 DOTATOC, and modern approaches to radiation protection. From our perspective, it was impressive to see how radiology continuously refines diagnostics and therapy. However, challenges in patient setup for adaptive workflows remain particularly relevant, especially regarding novel forms of therapy like the MR-Linac. This highlights that precise positioning is the crucial link enabling state-of-the-art technology to fully utilize its strengths. Beyond the expertise gained, we especially value the great conversations with new acquaintances and the energy from the quiz rounds.
