Twenty-four years ago today, I was on an airplane from San Francisco headed to Mexico on one of my many global investment research trips for the J&W Seligman & Co. meeting, again, with Jerry Labowitz , then Head of Merrill Lynch NA Research. 9/11 is a day we must all reflect on. This was a terrible day when I lost several colleagues and friends. I knew it very well; it could have easily been me, having frequented the towers and the Merrill Lynch adjacent buildings. We will never forget this terrible day, and remember those who lost their lives, those first responders who ran to the disaster to help, and those firefighters who climbed the stairs into hell intent on saving lives while knowing they may not keep their own. We are Americans, a melting pot of diverse cultures, opinions, religions, beliefs, political values, and more. Of the tragedy of this day, the best of America came to show….We were one, and we were unified Americans. Let’s use the memory of this tragic day to help us recenter our values and priorities with an acute understanding of our time and just how precious life and America are. #bravery #honor #God #country #memorial #firstresponders #life #love #family #friends #values
