I apologise for not writing for a long time. Not because I had nothing to say, but because I wanted to say something that actually matters. Here is my Second Letter to Law Students and Young Lawyers. It is written with honesty what I felt and what I experienced. 𝐈𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐛. The article runs into six pages. I know our attention span is short, but I request you to read it line by line, patiently and sincerely. In this letter, I have spoken about 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐰, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮. I have explained the 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. I have also shared 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝, through discipline, reading, and honest engagement with the law, and not through shortcuts. I have further mentioned some 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝, not to impress others, but to shape the way you think and practise. This is not a motivational post and it is not written to please. If you are in law and still asleep, the profession will not wait for you to wake up.
