Open - Proactive - Engaging … a good egg

https://lnkd.in/ePfJxPPZ Yes, that’s all Folks!!! …..After a few decades of keeping people smiling through every last-minute change, I’m am going to give retirement a go. Thank you to all my friends and colleagues @ Linklaters; AOL; WPP & Hasbro for the opportunities given, the trust, and the many projects we delivered together — relocations, refurbishments, sustainability programmes, roll outs, upgrades, and those “impossible” deadlines that somehow together, became our proudest achievements. I’ve been fortunate to guide teams through complexity and change, turning strategy into practical plans and plans into places people really enjoy working in. Whether it was balancing budgets (cost engineering), negotiating with suppliers (another competitive tender!), or aligning stakeholders across multiple sites, I’ve always tried to lead with clarity, calm, good humour, honesty and a stubborn belief that the right process plus the right people gets the job done. I’m proud of the systems we put in place, the efficiencies we continuously found … we created a culture of accountability, achievement and care that we built together. If you worked with me, you’ll hopefully agree that I “tried” to use humour as a tool as often as a spreadsheet. Endeavouring to defuse debates to the eternal mystery of the coffee machine, a well-timed joke helped us get through long days and tight deadlines. I’ve always believed that a laugh in the right moment keeps perspective sharp and colleagues resilient. So yes — I’ll miss the banter, the practical jokes, and the way a shared laugh could turn a crisis into a story. With enormous gratitude for the opportunities, teamwork, and the laughter – it’s been a real blast! 😊 Warmly, Paul
