How can research be transferred into clinical practice more quickly? 🧬🏥 In the canton of Aargau, the hospitals KSA, KSB and Hirslanden Klinik Aarau, together with ETH Zürich, Empa and PSI, have founded the ‘Association for Medical Research and Innovation in the Canton of Aargau’. The aim is to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research and medicine – in the spirit of ‘from bench to bedside’. Prof. Philipp Schuetz, head of the University Medical Clinic at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital, talks about the association’s successes: Through the ForME programme, young doctors are given time for scientific work and collaborate with teams at PSI and elsewhere on specific research projects. This leads to new methods, faster diagnoses and innovative therapies – for example, using 🤖AI-supported image analysis or in radioligand therapy for prostate cancer. The exchange works both ways: clinical needs meet cutting-edge research – and often lead to new ideas that go beyond the actual project. An example of how modern science ⚕️directly improves medicine. 👉 Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/eqg2fCi5 👉Download the latest issue of 5232 - The Magazine of PSI on research for healthy ageing: https://lnkd.in/dK6dybrN #ResearchAtPSI #Radiopharmacy #CancerTherapy #CancerResearch #ResearchForHealthyAgeing
