Working together for a strong measurement infrastructure. 🤝 The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS has named the PSI Paul Scherrer Institute as Switzerland's designated institute for neutron fluence. 👉 What does this mean? PSI operates the only accredited calibration laboratory for neutron metrology in Switzerland and now officially becomes part of the national measurement base. Neutron fluence describes how many neutrons pass through a given surface. Neutron metrology plays an important role in radiation therapy, the operation of nuclear power plants and workplace radiation protection.
