This is where I should describe how wonderful, unique, and goal-oriented my skills are. But those who do nothing are mistaken. And I do something: Check my profile and see who I work with and what I do. 🙂
The holidays are just around the corner. And my career has entered a new stage. This time it's a new start with Forcom Sp. z o.o. Thank you for your trust: Pawel Wasilewski & Piotr Jurga! Week 3 at Forcom as my retail tech adventure begins. I thought it would be all about technology. Turns out it's all about people. Things that surprised me: 1. Promotion customization is not a feature request It's a fight over margin. Every % discount is a conversation between marketing and finance. And each of these conversations takes weeks. 2. "Holiday season" doesn't mean Black Friday. It means: that IT works through holidays "just in case" as the backend must handle 10x normal traffic Everyone prays nothing crashes Because if it does, it costs millions. Literally. 3. "We need to handle 10,000 promotions simultaneously". These aren't edge cases. This is everyday reality in this business. Retail tech isn't "build a system and it works." It's a continuous battle with scale, complexity, and human nature. And I'm here to learn exactly that. Who works in retail tech? What surprised you in the beginning? #retail #tech #marketing
