🌍✨ Honoured to have been a Conference Officer for the We Are the World: Global Health and Surgery Conference! ✨🌍 This incredible conference brought together leading surgeons, researchers, and global health advocates to discuss how innovation, technology, and collaboration can drive equitable surgical care worldwide. It was a privilege to hear from Professor Owase Jeelani, Professor saleem abdulrauf, Professor Khaled Dawas, Professor Sarah Hawkes, Professor Thambi-Pillai Thavam, Dr. Soham Bandyopadhyay, Dr. Juan Puyana, Dr. Riana Patel, and Dr. Mohammed A. Adam, who shared invaluable insights on topics such as global surgical inequalities, humanitarian work and healthcare advocacy. We also managed to raise over £700 for our conference charity partner Gemini Untwined. Gemini Untwined is a pioneering charity dedicated to transforming the lives of craniopagus twins (CPT)—two independent children born with fused skulls, intertwined brains, and shared blood vessels. As part of the team, I managed social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram, ensuring key discussions reached a wider audience. I also helped coordinate the event on Zoom, answering audience questions and ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Beyond the sessions, I had the chance to build networks with a range of different surgical societies and universities across the globe. We also contacted high schools and sixth forms, helping to expand outreach and engage future generations in global health and surgery. Connecting with like-minded individuals dedicated to tackling healthcare disparities was truly inspiring! A massive thank you and congratulations to Tanushree (Jia) Nag, our incredible Conference Chair, for leading and managing the event so brilliantly! Your dedication and leadership made this conference a huge success. A huge thank you to the UCL Global Surgery Society team and everyone involved in making this event happen. Looking forward to continuing these important conversations and collaborations! #GlobalHealth #Surgery #WeAreTheWorld #HealthcareInnovation #Outreach
